The board discussed putting the sign along Highway 19 at the April board meeting.

Old-time games to be part of this year's RFL This year’s Relay For Life at Hood Park will include a series of old-time games for the entire family to enjoy. There will be a frog jumping contest, turtle races and stick horse racing. Contestants are needed in each event, so be on the lookout for a good jumping frog or fast-moving turtle to enter into competition.

Image Rev. Jeremiah Wright: Pariah or Prophet?

The media is once again in a feeding frenzy. Its latest victim is the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, former senior pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, of which presidential contender Barack Obama is a member.

If you buy into what the media is reporting, much of it culled from old sermons, Wright is an unpatriotic, anti-Semitic, Christian zealot three steps removed from the likes of Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson.

Another battle worth fighting Regardless of where you stand on the Iraq War, we can — and should — unite on this one issue: Everyone who has fought in this war should have the same benefits that I and so many other servicemen received after serving in one of these wars: WW-2, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
