Seniors closing out their careers at CHS

Thirteen years of school will come to a close this week for Cuba High School seniors. The Class of 2012 has had a busy month, filled with activities such as the girl’s tea at the Wallace House, boy’s BBQ at Hood Park, and MVP breakfast at the First Baptist Church.

• Lady Tigers basketball coach faces possible firing at this week’s school board meeting
    St. James sports fans would probably like to put their collective ears on the door of a closed session planned for tonight’s (May 17) St. James School Board meeting. The board will reportedly be considering the firing of head girls basketball coach Brad Conway, who has been coaching the Lady Tigers for the past 14 years.

The Missouri Department of Conservation, the Maramec Spring Trout Fishermen’s Association and The James Foundation will host Kids Free Fishing Day at Maramec Spring Park this Saturday. Kids fish free and there will be no parking fee on this day for cars with kids 15 and younger inside!

County employees racking up vacation time

A number of Crawford County employees have accrued large amounts of vacation hours, in spite of the county’s policy that states that individuals are only allowed to carry over 40 hours from year to year.

Ridenhour is lone St.?James Tiger to advance out of the district track meet

The John F. Hodge High School track teams competed in the Class 3, District 5 Track Meet Saturday at St. Francis Borgia Regional High School in Washington. Shelby Ridenhour was the only one of the Tigers who was able to advance to this coming Saturday’s sectional meet.
