Missouri Ozarks Community Action (MOCA) is planning to host a “Community Empowerment Collaboration” event in Cuba on February 24. The purpose of the meeting is to develop local solutions for addressing some of the many aspects of poverty. MOCA officials said the Collaboration will be “seeking the ideas, time and talents of local citizens and organizations to develop plans that will allow the local community to impact poverty in new ways.” The event is designed to “empower and encourage people from all walks of life to become concerned and involved in the efforts to end poverty and create equitable and just communities where all members thrive.” The meeting will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Cuba United Methodist Church, 903 W. Washington. Those planning to attend should register by calling Lori Lewis at 573-885-2800 by Feb. 15. If you are unable to attend, but would like to be contacted for future events and meetings, call Lewis or e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
