Four arrested for drugs after trailer search

Four alleged drug dealers were apprehended in Cuba on Aug. 26 when police executed a search warrant at a trailer located at 205 N. Springfield Street. Troy L. Conant, 27, of Cuba; Elisabeth H. Lambert, 33, of Steelville; Scott B. Lorenz, 26, of Florissant; and Daniel R. Schroeder, 32, of Cuba; have each been charged with one count class B felony attempt to manufacture a controlled substance and one count class C felony possession of a controlled substance in the case.

Tigers finally fall to Wildcats

When you have a 100-yard rusher, a 200-yard passer and gain a total of 459 yards, all while holding your opponent to 365 total yards, you would expect to win a football game. The St. James Tigers did just that last Friday night in Cuba, but came up on the short end of a 24-12 final. It was the Tigers first ever loss to the Wildcats in 11 years. (See Photo Gallery)

City should be commended for help

I wish to take this opportunity to thank the city council for helping the Tri-County Humane Society Shelter with funding. I personally know how hard it is to keep the no kill shelter operating, since I was on the board there for a long time.
