Asphalt going down on new all-weather track

    The St. James Board of Education was given an update on construction occurring in the district on July 17. Lloyd Pooker, of Creative Construction Solutions, informed the board that construction is moving forward and will be completed prior to fall sports. Weather delays have pushed the project back a bit, but it should still be finished soon.

Annual Bourbon High School All Class Reunion planned for September 13

    Plans are underway for the 3rd Annual BHS All Class Reunion to be held Saturday, September 13 at the Bourbon Community Center.  The BHS Alumni Board meetings are usually held the second Friday of the month at area sponsors.

    Not everyone has the same idea of making a dream come true. For Allen McGuire, of Potosi, a dream come true would be completing something he has never done with someone who means the world to him. Starting August 1, McGuire will attempt to bring this dream to reality as he and his son Jacob set out for a 50-day canoe trip from Huzzah Valley to the Gulf of Mexico, a distance of 1,063 miles.
