School plans for possible override of governor’s veto

    In Jefferson City, a dispute over a tax bill is threatening to reduce funding for Missouri's public schools in the state budget. House Bill 253 was passed by the Missouri General Assembly and aims to reduce taxes. Governor Jax Nixon vetoed the bill because he feels it will reduce government revenues too much, but the legislation could vote to override the veto.
