Bill vetoed by the Governor would drain hundreds of millions from local school districts across the state
JEFFERSON CITY – Gov. Nixon released the following statement regarding data requested by the Missouri Association of School Administrators from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education estimating the impact of House Bill 253 on each school district in the state. Gov. Nixon vetoed House Bill 253 last month, calling it an unaffordable experiment that would force dramatic cuts to education and raise taxes on prescription drugs.
