Harlem Wizards coming to SHS

    The Harlem Wizards will be bringing their unique brand of basketball to Steelville High School on Monday, January 13. Action is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

    The Wizards will be taking on select team of Steelville School District staff and community members, including Superintendent Mike Whittaker. Others on the home squad will be: Principal Lynn Reed, Candice Richter, Victoria McCulloch, Tara Bobbitt, Heather Farmer, and Billy Edgar, from the elementary school; Scott Stice, Carlos Diaz, John Tolly and Jeff Landwehr, from the middle school; Principal Tana Booker, Carey Thomas, Ben Martin, Seth Collins and April Mathews, from the high school; and Matt Mabe, Scott Perkins, Tim Mullen, Emi Santhuff, Jeff Bair and Zac Driscol, representing the community and traveling league coaches.
    Doors will open at 6 p.m. and tickets are available for $8 for students and senior citizens and $10 for adults in advance. Tickets at the door are an additional $2. Tickets are available at all three school offices, First Community National Bank and Peoples Bank. Courtside Plus tickets, which include a 10-minute meet and greet with two of the Wizards, are $20 each and are available from Ruth Diaz at (573) 465-4411.
    There will be souvenirs available the night of the game and Wizards players will be visiting each school campus on Monday for an assembly. For more information about the Harlem Wizards, visit
