Forest Service hosting kids trout derby

 A free kid’s trout derby will be held on Mark Twain National Forest’s Stone Mill Spring Recreation Area Saturday, February 22. Stone Mill Spring Trout pond is located off FLW 20 Road, off Water Intake Road, on Fort Leonard Wood.

Due to weathered road conditions, plan for a 1/3 mile walk into Stone Mill Spring.
Registration starts at 10 a.m. Fishing from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Ages 2-15 must be accompanied by an adult.
Limited fishing poles available so bring your own.
Prizes will be awarded for tagged trout.
This Kid’s free Trout Derby is made possible through a partnership with Missouri Department of Conservation; Fort Leonard Wood Department of Public Works-Natural Resource branch, and Fort Leonard Wood Morale, Welfare and Recreation-Outdoor Adventure Center.
