The National Weather Service (NWS) and the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), along with City of Cuba Emergency Management Agency (EMA), have declared the week of March 3-7, 2014 as Severe Weather Awareness Week for Missouri.
The goal of the week is quite simple: to save lives. The best way to do this is by being prepared. Everyone should have a basic knowledge of severe weather safety rules and have a severe weather plan in place. Knowing what to do, or where to go when severe weather threatens can be the difference between life and death.
A good time for all Missouri citizens to practice their severe weather plans will be during the Annual Missouri Severe Weather Drill, which will be held Tuesday, March 4, around 1:30 pm.

Be aware that if severe weather is in the forecast on March 4, the drill will be moved to Thursday, March 6 at 1:30 p.m.
