Police officer building relationships at Steelville school

Steelville Middle School students stop on their way through the cafeteria between classes to say, “Hi Adam,” to Steelville Police Sergeant Adam Reed. He returns the greeting, and asks them about their day, what class they’re going to next, what they’ve been doing. Reed spends several hours at the middle school each Friday, eating lunch with students, visiting classrooms, and talking with kids about all kinds of things from baseball cards to bullying. It’s all part of a process to create a relationship between himself as a law enforcement officer and the students.
