Salem First Baptist Church holding annual Easter Pageant

The Salem First Baptist Church Celebration Choir and cast welcome everyone to attend the upcoming presentations of “The Easter Pageant.” Opening night for the 90-minute production is set for Friday, April 11. Four other presentations are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, April 12 and 13 and then again the following weekend April 18 and 19. Each presentation begins at 7 p.m.

“This is the 15th season for pageantry at First Baptist” says Phil Newcom, Minister of Music and Education at the church and director of the Easter Pageant. The Pageant will involve a 72-voice pageant choir, a cast of 75 characters and 12 members of the Kidz Choir. “We want our guests to feel like they are experiencing the Passion Week events on the streets of Jerusalem.”
The pageant is a massive production requiring months of preparation and thousands of man work hours.
Due to the graphic crucifixion scene, a nursery will be provided and suggested for children age three and younger. Deaf interpretation will be provided.
Admission is free but there is limited seating. For more information, call the church office at 573-729-4863.
