Both the Cuba Middle School girls and boys track teams placed ninth in the Hermann Relays held on Friday, April 11. Owensville won the boys meet by a wide margin, with Washington taking the girls meet.
Garrett Schroyer finished second in the 200 meters (25.18) and had the best ranking for the Cuba that day; he also was seventh in the long jump competition (15 feet, 7.75 inches). Jared Priest was eighth in the 400 meters (1:00.86) and sixth in the triple jump (32 feet, 11.5 inches). The 4x100 relay boys (Chase Garber, Jared Priest, Trenton Gordeau, Dillon Hemby) went sixth in their race (52.70), the 4x200 team (Garber, Josh Elrod, Gordeau, Hemby) was seventh (1:56.37), and the 4x400 squad (Austin Shockley, Priest, Gordeau, Schroyer) took fifth (4:17.77).
Erykah Killeen went third in the triple jump for the CMS girls (28 feet, 2 inches), while Madison Farace finished fifth in the event (27 feet, 9.5 inches) and took ninth in the long jump (12 feet, 4 inches). Hunter Pitts took fourth in the 100 meters (14.18), Ella Smith was seventh in the 400 (1:11.53) and eighth in the high jump (4 feet, 2 inches), and Mattie Hampton placed sixth in the 75 meter hurdles (14.94).
The 4x100 relay girls (Madison Farace, Ella Smith, Madison Mallady, Hunter Pitts) finished fifth (58.89), the 4x200 team (Farris, Mallady, Killeen, Pitts) took tenth (2:17.20), and the 4x400 squad (Mallady, Smith, Killeen, Pitts) ran third in their event (4:56.54).
