St. James hosting Sixth Annual Sip 'n' Savor on Saturday

    Sip ‘n’ Savor returns to St. James on Saturday. Sponsored by the St. James Chamber of Commerce, the sixth annual event will feature some of the best of wineries and breweries from Missouri teaming with local businesses for wine and beer lovers. From 1 to 6 p.m., participants can enjoy endless samples from more than 30 wineries and breweries—with approximately 90 beverages to sample—along with free shuttles between tasting areas, a free bag and wine glass and free workshops.

    The event will feature quality products from the St. James Winery, Stone Hill Winery, Les Bourgeois Vineyards, the Public House Brewery, Mother’s Brewing, Blue Moon Brewing, Boulevard Brewing Co., and the Boston Beer Co. New vendors this year include the Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., Bardenheier Wine Cellars, Angry Orchard Cider, O’Dell Brewing Co., Vermont Hard Cider, Anchor Brewing Company, New Belgium Brewing Co. and Bulmer’s Hard Cider.
    Returning vendors include the Belmont Vineyards, Heinrichshaus Winery, Edg-Clif Winery, Leinenkugel’s Brewing Co., Meramec Vineyards, Peaceful Bend Winery, Piney River Brewing, Three Squirrels Winery, Spoetzl Brewery, Wenwood Family Farm and Winery, Westphalia Winery, White Mule Winery, 7C’s Winery, and Twin Oaks Vineyard and Winery.
    Guests will check in at the Historic Depot to receive their bags and wine glasses and to purchase tickets for those needing to do so. Vendors will be stationed at local businesses on both sides of the overpass. Participants will also receive a map of where each tasting area is located. There will be a wine-mixology workshop hosted by the St. James Winery, a free home-brewing workshop presented by the Public House Brewery and wine-tasting workshop.
    Beginning at 6 p.m. the wine and beer tent will open downtown with live music by Alderwood. Throughout the evening, a free souvenir photo booth will also be set up in the tent area. Local food vendors will be offering their best throughout the event. Vendors include Sybill’s, Mad Moose BBQ, Belmont Vineyards, La Cabana Mexican Grill, Addie’s Daddy’s and Meramec Vineyard’s Bistro.
    Tickets can be purchased online at via PayPal, by visiting the St. James Tourist Information Center at 100 State Route B or by visiting the Rolla Visitor’s Center at 1311 Kingshighway, Rolla. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the gate. Military personnel receive a $5 discount with a military ID.
