Internationally-acclaimed Missouri artist Billyo O’Donnell will hold a three-day plein air workshop during an exhibition of his paintings of the state’s 114 counties and the city of St. Louis. Space is limited for the workshop, so it will be necessary to sign up early, workshop dates are June 20, 21 and 22. Cost is $400 and only $200 for Steelville Arts Council members, thanks to anonymous sponsorships.

The gallery exhibition “Painting Missouri” will run from June 17 through July 5 at Gallery Zeke. “Painting Missouri” is the journey of Billyo O’Donnell painting on location for seven years, original oil paintings of the 114 counties of Missouri and the city of St. Louis. The paintings are accompanied by an informative description written for each local by Karen Glines, with facts and lore at every turn. This combination of words and art gives a unique and rewarding experience for the viewer.
