Ozark Actors Theatre opens with 'Comedy of Errors'

Ozark Actors Theatre presents the first show of Season 27, Mistaken Identities:  THE COMEDY OF ERRORS, by William Shakespeare, adapted and directed by Jason Cannon.

This will be the first full-length production for OAT of a play by Shakespeare, so Jason Cannon has put a musical wild-west twist to the farce masterpiece, a madcap adventure with two sets of identical twins causing confusion and chaos. Ozark Actors Theatre has assembled a cast from New York, Chicago, Arkansas, and St. Louis, as well as Rolla, St. James, Steelville, and Cuba for a musical version that will feature songs made popular by Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Hank Williams, etc. along with some new works.
THE COMEDY OF ERRORS is generously sponsored by Brewer Science and has performances June 19-29, Thursday/Friday/Saturday at 7:30pm, and Friday/Sunday at 2pm.
Tickets are only $20 for adults, $16 for active military or groups of 15+ (call box office for group sales), and $12 for college students and children 17 and under.  There are also Family 4-Packs available for matinee performances.  Season Subscriptions and individual tickets can be purchased on-line at or by calling 573.364.9523 x1.
Ozark Actors Theatre is one of only two professional theatres in out-state Missouri, and operates under a contract with Actors’ Equity Association, the union of professional actors and stage managers in the United States.  Now in its 27th season, Ozark Actors Theatre has a long history of presenting outstanding live theatre to south central Missouri.
The 2013 summer season at Ozark Actors Theatre will continue with the first of a cabaret series beginning on June 23rd with OAT favorites Hannah Bagnall and Brittany Proia, the musical parable JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT running July 10-20, the popular annual talent showcase FOLLIES on July 26, and the Tony Award-winning musical comedy THE DROWSY CHAPERONE running July 31-August 10.
