Mary Cecelia Sagel
Mary Cecelia Sagel of Cuba, Missouri was born Thursday, December 1, 1927 at New York to James and Ida Birmingham and passed away Wednesday July 2, 2014 at the age of 86 years.
Mary was united in marriage to Timothy Benjamin Sagel in 1945 at Campbell, Missouri and to this union 11 children were born.
Mary retired from Brown Shoe Company in 1992 after 24 years of dedicated service. Mary was a devout member of Holy Cross Catholic Church for 65 years. In her spare time of raising eleven children she enjoyed embroidering.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ida Birmingham; husband, Timothy Sagel; three sons, Phillip, Thomas and Bernard Sagel; and two grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Margaret Hoke, Teresa Depauw, Elizabeth Garner, Albert Sagel, Steven Sagel, Paul Sagel, Alice Rodriguez and Edward Sagel; 17 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; one great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Monday, July 7, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at the Mizell Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri.
Celebration of Mass was held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Owensville, Missouri with Father James Finder as Celebrant.
Interment and prayers followed at the Holy Cross Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.
