Bourbon School Board July Meeting Notes

Action Items:
•    The board approved Consent Agenda, which included approval of the June 19, 2014 and June 30, 2014 minutes, paying all bills and salaries, authorizing bids for resealing and restriping the elementary/middle school parking lot, and approval of the following policy, procedures, and form revisions:  AC – Prohibition Against Discrimination, Harassment and Retaliation; AH – Use of Tobacco Products and Imitation Tobacco Products; GBBDA – Family and Medical Leave; Policy JFCI – Student Drug Testing; Procedure JFCI-AP – Student Drug Testing; Student Drug Testing Consent Form; and Student Drug Testing Self-Report Form.

Informational meeting at Onondaga Cave on July 5

The public is invited to bring their ideas to an informational meeting at Onondaga Cave State Park on July 5. The open house-style meeting will be held from 11 a.m to 2 p.m. at the Visitors Center.

Leo Sanders elected chairman of MRPC transportation committee

    The Meramec Region Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC) elected a new slate of officers at its August meeting as two-term Chairman John Petersen reached his term limit. Crawford County Presiding Commissioner Leo Sanders will lead the group through the next year as chairman, while Dent County Presiding Commissioner Darrell Skiles willserve as vice chair and Washington County Presiding Commissioner Marvin Wright will serve as secretary to the group.

Leathers leaving county to join staff at ECC

    Mardy Leathers attended his last Crawford County Commission meeting as county clerk on Tuesday. He will leave the position officially on September 1 and take over duties for his new job as Executive Director for the Center for Workforce Development with East Central College.

County will save in utility costs

    Utility costs should see another decrease for Crawford County after commissioners agreed to install an additional computerized temperature control (CTC) system in county buildings.
