Lots of activities planned for Freedom Fest
Friday marks the celebration of our nation’s independence, and Steelville will be celebrating from morning to evening at this year’s Freedom Festival at the Community Park. Activities will begin early in the morning and won’t stop until well after dark.

Ozark Actors Theatre is building on the well-received Cabaret performances of the summer of 2013 by introducing a Summer Series of Cabaret, presented by our guest performers. The Harney Mansion Foundation at Sullivan, Missouri will be the host site for the State of Missouri’s traveling exhibit “The Civil War in Missouri: A state divided” from August 30 to October 26, 2014. The traveling exhibit was created by the Missouri History Museum and the Missouri Humanities Council and has been seen in numerous towns and cities across the state.
The public will have the opportunity to buy, sell, swap or just admire rocks, minerals and fossils at the Missouri Mines Rock Swap June 13-15 at Missouri Mines State Historic Site in Park Hills. Sponsored by Missouri State Parks, the event will be held from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Sunday.
