Cats drop the Cards 15-5 on the road

It took only five innings of play for the Cuba Wildcats to knock off the Steelville Cardinals in their regular season conference matchup at Steelville Community Park on Tuesday, April 22. The Cats got a pair of two-run homers by Taylor Thompson and Bryer Nash, and scored a total of 15 runs in five innings as they defeated the Cards 15-5.

Williams goes yard twice at Hermann

Cameron Williams went three-for-three and hit two homers in a 10-1, early-season Wildcat victory over Hermann.

Lady Cats win Salem Invitational

The Lady Wildcats finished two points ahead of Steelville in the final point standings at last week’s Salem Invitational track meet to win their first competition of the spring season. The Wildcat girls compiled 94.5 points, finishing just ahead of the Lady Cardinals, who ended the day with 92.5 points. The Wildcat boys took third in the meet, tied with Willow Springs and well behind Mountain Grove and Salem, who took the top two spots.

Golf team competes at Ft. Wood

Cuba golfers took part in a 18-hole scramble competition at Fort Leonard Wood on Tuesday, April 22. There were 11 teams fielded in the event, which pitted two players playing their own balls with others playing two-man scramble teams.

Physicals needed for fall sports

    Steelville High School fall sports practices will begin on Monday, August 4. All students must have their physical by that time, and on file in the high school office. If there are any questions, please contact the Steelville High School office at (573) 775-2144.

Volner and Carey named top SHS senior athletes

    Steelville High School presented its 2013-14 athletic and activities awards last month. Students were recognized for their participation in cross country, softball, volleyball, basketball, cheerleading, poms, baseball and track.
