CHS softball hammers Bourbon in three innings

The Lady Wildcats scored eight runs in the first inning, two in the second, and fourteen in the third, as they blew out the Bourbon Warhawks 24-0 on Monday night. The victory pushed Cuba’s record to 5-0 and improved their conference record to 2-0 (the girls were at home on Tuesday to play Vienna in another key GVC matchup, but results of the game were not available at deadline this week).

Softball girls get past Houston 15-9

The Lady Wildcats knocked off the Houston Lady Tigers 15-9 last week, but not without a battle. The Cuba girls racked up 15 runs on 13 hits, and the strength of their offense had to overcome some defensive mistakes that kept the opposing team in the game.

Hermann dumps Cuba, 54-12

After a 54-12 drubbing at Hermann last Friday night, there wasn’t much good that the Cuba Wildcats could take away from the football field as they prepare for a short week and Owensville at home on Friday.

Varsity volleyballers looking for their first victory

The Cuba Lady Wildcat varsity volleyballers entered this week still searching for their first win, after having dropped two matches at home to start the season. The varsity lost both to New Haven and Houston, but the junior varsity Lady Cats were able to salvage one of their two matches.

Wildcat girls get a quality road win at Rolla

The Lady Wildcats hit well up and down the lineup in a 13-7 win over the Rolla Lady Bulldogs. It was a quality win for the softball team, and Madison Farace led the offense with five hits.

Two big plays in the passing game ended up making all the difference, as the Cuba Wildcats lost their football season opener against St. James 12-6.
