Gov. Nixon recognizes workforce development efforts of businesses, education and community leaders in St. Francois County to become CWRC-designated

PARK HILLS, Mo. – Gov. Jay Nixon today was joined by local business, education and community leaders at Mineral Area College to congratulate St. Francois County for being designated as a Certified Work Ready Community (CWRC). The CWRC designation recognizes successful efforts by community, education and business leaders, working with the Missouri Division of Workforce Development, to strengthen workforce training and development to meet the economic development needs of communities.

Kander, Wallingford announce bipartisan legislation to cut business fees to overall lowest in nation

Secretary of State Jason Kander today announced that he is proposing legislation to cut fees paid by Missouri businesses to the overall lowest in the country. The bill was filed today on Secretary Kander’s behalf by Sen. Wayne Wallingford (R-Cape Girardeau).

Gov. Nixon helps break ground on Boeing composite center; expansion will create up to 700 jobs producing parts for the 777X

ST. LOUIS, Mo.—Gov. Jay Nixon today joined members of Missouri’s Congressional delegation, state and local officials, and Boeing executives to break ground on the company’s new composite center to house parts work for the 777X, Boeing’s next-generation commercial aircraft.
