Colorado man pleads guilty to illegally trafficking paddlefish

Tammy Dickinson, United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced today that a Colorado man has pleaded guilty in federal court to illegally trafficking in paddlefish caviar after being caught in an undercover operation in the Warsaw, Mo., area.

Woodland and Glade Restoration Workshop to be held Aug. 21 near Sullivan

Landowners who want to improve glades and woodlands on their property will have the opportunity to learn from natural resource experts at a Woodland and Glade Restoration Workshop scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 21, from 5-8 p.m. The workshop will be held at the Missouri Department of Conservation's (MDC) Long Ridge Conservation Area north of Sullivan in Franklin County.

Summer fishing and shallow water

    After last week’s column on jitterbug fishing at night in streams, I had a couple of readers complain that they were unable to paddle a canoe and spend the night on a gravel bar, and wanted to know if jitterbugs worked at night on Ozark lakes, like Norfork, Bull Shoals and Beaver, or Stockton, Pomme de Terre or Lake of the Ozarks.
