Battle of Pilot Knob re-enactment marks 150 years since battle

• Events to include name change ceremony for state historic site
 
Marking 150 years since the Battle of Pilot Knob, re-enactors will gather on Sept. 27-28 for the re-creation of the 1864 running battle through the Arcadia valley. In addition to the events being held to commemorate the battle, a special ceremony will be held marking the recent name change of the historic site that preserves and interprets the battle.

Riverat Challenge taking place September 13

    Two mile run, two mile kayak and mud obstacle course. Are you up for the challenge?
    The Riverat Challenge is taking place on Saturday, September 13 in Steelville, Missouri. The event is being parented by Eagle Flight Ministries, a non-profit organization, with all funds raised from the event going to the Steelville community with this year’s focus being to repair the Steelville track.

Canning workshops being held

    The Healthy Sullivan Coalition is presenting three canning workshops during September.
    The workshops, held September 11, 18 and 25 from 5:30-8:30 p.m., will be held at the Family and Consumer Science Room at the Sullivan High School.
