Home near Berryman destroyed by fire
Steelville fire personnel responded to a second alarm residential fire call on Feigenbaum Road near Berryman on Monday afternoon. The mobile home had “flames showing” at the time of the call, and assistance from other fire departments was quickly requested.

Last day of school for Steelville moved to May 8
Students in Steelville have missed 15 total days this winter due to snow, ice, and cold winter weather. Of those, the state of Missouri requires the district to make up 10 days. Students will be in school for almost all of the scheduled days off through the rest of the school year, and will have five days tacked on to the end.
Art event moving to Community Building
Original paintings will be available to view and purchase at the Steelville Community Building in June as part of the second Plein Air event sponsored by the Steelville Arts Council (STARCO). Aldermen approved the usage of the building at no charge for the Arts Council in order to show the city’s support of the work STARCO is doing for the community.
West End reopening after water damage forced closure
Izzy’s West End Bar & Grill will reopen on Saturday, February 15 after being closed for a month to make repairs to the building. To celebrate the grand reopening, the Mike Lorraine Band will play from 1 to 5 p.m.
