Council hears complaints about private road usage for lodge construction

    Two Steelville residents are questioning the usage of a private road for heavy equipment traveling to the construction site of the new Bearcat Lodge and for running water lines to the site. Mary Yelton and Francoisa Goudeau brought their concerns about the situation to the city council at the meeting held on December 15. The two share the private roadway with the property owner of the lodge site, Judy Baumstark.

Steelville Christmas features lights, carols, Santa and Elsa

    Steelville’s Christmas celebrations on Saturday included a special tree-lighting ceremony near city hall and a drive-through Christmas display at the Community Park, sponsored by the Steelville Area Chamber of Commerce.
