They’re letting the dogs out at Belmont Winery this Friday for a fundraiser to help support the Cuba animal shelter. It is also a one-year anniversary celebration for the establishment of the Partners for the Cuba Pound nonprofit group.
Problem at substation caused blackout
Things went dark all across Cuba last Thursday when a power outage at the Sho-Me Power Electric Cooperative caused a temporary, daytime electrical failure that blacked out the entire town for approximately 90 minutes. After some emergency repairs were made, the power was restored without further complications or interruptions—but not before lunchtime business ground to a halt and schools were forced to close early.

It has been a long road to recovery for a St. Louis-born blues guitarist that now calls Cuba his home. After suffering a debilitating mini-stroke that ended his musical career, the bluesman Little David is coming out of retirement to perform again. His new band is scheduled to play at East Office Bar & Grill on the first Saturday night of October.
City installs lighting after vandalism at park bathrooms
New nighttime lighting will be installed at Tangle Creek Park to help counteract ongoing vandalism problems on the city park property.
