Crawford County has a new conservation agent
Crawford County once again has two agents of the Missouri Department of Conservation working in the area. Patrice Reese has been transferred to the county to serve as one of two agents in the field. She began field work last week and she hopes to fill the large shoes left by the now-retired Rob Brandenburg, who worked in Crawford County for many years.
City of Steelville will help county with sidewalk replacement
The city of Steelville and Crawford County will work together on a small project to replace a section of sidewalk in front of the health department on Main Street. District #1 Commissioner Paul Watson approached the city council at its meeting on Thursday, September 4 with the request for assistance in improving the walkway.
Special DWI enforcment effort planned
Captain James W. Remillard, commanding officer of Troop I, announces that sometime during the month of September, troopers assigned to Troop I will be involved in a special enforcement operation specifically targeting those drivers who are operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs in Crawford County.
Leo Sanders elected chairman of MRPC transportation committee
The Meramec Region Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC) elected a new slate of officers at its August meeting as two-term Chairman John Petersen reached his term limit. Crawford County Presiding Commissioner Leo Sanders will lead the group through the next year as chairman, while Dent County Presiding Commissioner Darrell Skiles willserve as vice chair and Washington County Presiding Commissioner Marvin Wright will serve as secretary to the group.
