Veterans Home resident was a WWII bomber repairman

    William “Bill” Aaron is a former officer in the United States Air Force, serving during World War II. Aaron spent the majority of his time serving in Italy, working on as crew chief on B-24s that were used for bombing during the war.

Two city workers quit over overtime policy

    Questions were raised during Monday night’s meeting of the St. James City Council as to why the employee handbook was changed—without council permission— resulting in two utility workers quitting. Alderman David Watkins was against the perceived revision, which changes how employee compensation is handled. City Administrator Jeff Davis, however, said the handbook had not been changed at all, but rather an area of the handbook is now being emphasized.

Elementary School hosts Halloween events - PHOTO GALLERY

Choir hosting annual dinner

    St. James High School choir students will be hosting their 12th Annual Choir Dinner and Silent Auction on November 15. This year, the event is Disney-themed and students will serve food, catered by Matt’s Steakhouse, and provide entertainment throughout the evening.
