Project Graduation trivia night will be held on Saturday
The Project Graduation Committee will host an ‘80s and ‘90s themed trivia night this Saturday, April 5. Teams will compete for prizes for first and second place and best decorated table, while there will also be a silent auction and a 50/50 raffle. All proceeds will go toward this year’s Graduation event.
Board gets construction update
Construction at the St. James middle and high schools has picked up over the past month, with warmer weather leading to great gains at both buildings. Lloyd Pooker, of Creative Construction Solutions, updated the St. James Board of Education about where the project stands on March 20.
Library book sale nets more than $1,000
A large book sale was held at the James Memorial Public Library last week, with a great number of book enthusiasts coming to take advantage of great prices. Thousands of books were available for purchase and the proceeds will benefit the public library’s programs.
Busche recognized as top scholar
St. James High School senior Taylor Busche has been selected for the 2014 Missouri Scholars 100. The statewide program honors 100 of Missouri’s top academic students in the graduating class of 2014.
JFH Scholar Bowl team finishes second in Four-Rivers Conference
The John F. Hodge High School scholar bowl team has had a very successful year, with a great result at their conference meet last week. Team members competed in Sullivan for conference, placing second. James Schisler and Victoria Stroup received varsity all-conference awards for their performance and Anthony Borthacyre received junior varsity all-conference.
