Regional group awarded grant
The Meramec Community Enhancement Corporation will be one of seven new investments from the Delta Regional Authority (DRA) and local partners. Fairground gets bid for PCSD vehicles
During the week of November 25 Phelps County commissioners:
• Heard from Sheriff Rick Lisenbe, who presented copies of the state bid on vehicles from Don Brown Chevrolet, St. Louis, as well as a bid from Fairground Chevrolet, Rolla, matching state pricing. Fairground Chevrolet also offered a $12,000 trade-in of a 2012 Tahoe with more than 140,000 miles. At the sheriff’s recommendation, commissioners awarded the bid for two 2015 Chevrolet Tahoes and the trade-in of a 2012 Tahoe to Fairground Chevrolet for a total of $54,678.
Outer Road project discussed again
During the week of November 18, Phelps County commissioners:
• Heard from Kelly Sink-Blair and Lyle Thomas, Meramec Regional Planning Commission, and Pam Grow and Chester Kojro, citizens, who conducted the public hearing for the North Outer Road Project grant application. Kojro advised he believes if the county is going to retain the existing Road 2000, then it will still have to be repaired and the new road will have to be built much stronger to stand up to the traffic it will carry.
Water district patrons seeking some answers
• PWSD #4 customers may seek legal action in hopes of reducing fees, improving service
Residents of the Phelps Water Sewer District #4 (PWSD) met on Sunday to discuss the state of the district and options moving forward as residents face increasing rates. Organized by members of the district, Attorney Shane Grayson was on hand to discuss possible legal action open to the district.
Phelps County’s Carol Bennett receives MRPC public service award
Phelps County Clerk Carol Bennett was honored for her dedication and commitment to public service during Meramec Regional Planning Commission’s (MRPC) 2014 Annual Dinner on Nov. 13 at Camp Mihaska Conference and Resort Center near Bourbon. The organization also honored 10 additional volunteers, youth, service organizations and local leaders for their contributions to their communities during the event.Write comment (0 Comments)
