Girls win one of three in home tournament

After winning an exciting extra-inning affair against St. James in Saturday’s softball tournament held in Cuba, the Lady Cats were flat in their next two games, losing both to Dixon and Borgia. St. James went on to win their next two games and finish first in the tournament.

Lemons rushes for 300 yards in homecoming win

Nick Lemons ran for two touchdowns and threw for a third in leading the Cuba Wildcats to their first victory of 2014, as the Cats won their football homecoming game against Windsor 22-6.

Dutchmen drop the Wildcats to 0-3

The visiting Owensville Dutchmen sent the varsity football Cuba Wildcats to their third straight defeat last Friday. The Wildcats struck their first blood early in the contest but then went on to give up 29 unanswered points in the 35-8 loss.

Cuba knocks off Steelville in GVC match

Cuba earned its first conference win in softball last week with a 7-2 home victory over the Steelville Lady Cardinals. It was the first conference match of the season, and the Wildcats did their best with the six hits they strung together that afternoon.

CHS softball hammers Bourbon in three innings

The Lady Wildcats scored eight runs in the first inning, two in the second, and fourteen in the third, as they blew out the Bourbon Warhawks 24-0 on Monday night. The victory pushed Cuba’s record to 5-0 and improved their conference record to 2-0 (the girls were at home on Tuesday to play Vienna in another key GVC matchup, but results of the game were not available at deadline this week).
