Employee co-pay not reimbursed by city
The mayor’s vote helped settle a disagreement among city councilmen over the reimbursement of a city employee’s medical bill. At the Oct. 8 meeting of the Cuba Board of Aldermen, Mayor Ray Mortimeyer voted with three other aldermen in favor of a motion not to pay a $70 bill that would have reimbursed Lonnie Dickens for his co-pay costs associated with a doctor’s visit.
If it’s the third weekend in October, then it’s time for another Cuba Fest. Organizers of the annual arts and crafts fair in the historic Recklein District of Cuba will celebrate the 53rd year of the town fall festival, which features live music, entertainment, games and activities for kids, food and craft vendors, wine tasting, and much more.
Looking for something fun and creative to do this fall? A paint party at Spirals Art Studio might be just what you’re looking for. For church groups, families, businesses, or just about anybody, a paint party is your chance to get creative in the studio without any past art experience being necessary.
The Cuba Arts Council would like to invite you to join us at the Route 66 Cuba Fest 2014 on October 18 & 19, 2014! Once again, we will be offering our “Wine Sipping Tent,” “The Taste of Cuba,” and “Funky Fashions.” We will be located at the corners of Smith and B Streets.
Cuba School District maintains accredited status
Administrators believe the Cuba School District is performing well and continues to do so. The recent release of Annual Performance Reports scoring school districts across the state only reinforces that notion, with the Crawford County R-2 School District maintaining its accredited status.
