Sports Club hosing egg hunt on April 19

    The Easter Bunny is coming and moms, dads and kids of all ages are invited out to watch the excitement once again as the St. James Sports Club has invited the Easter Bunny to hide her eggs in St. James.


Kiwanis Club earns immunization award

    The ELIMINATE Program was designed by Kiwanis International and UNICEF to globally ELIMINATE Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus. In the United States it is unheard of for a newborn to contract tetanus but in third world countries where people are not inoculated against the disease many newborns die an extremely painful death within the first week of life due to this disease.

Election set for Tuesday, April 8

    Area voters will be heading to the polls next Tuesday. Local races include two for the St. James City Council, four running for three seats on the St. James School Board of Education, five running for two seats on the St. James Fire Protection District Board of Directors and three running for one seat on the St. James Ambulance District.

Four are seeking two spots on city council

    St. James residents will head to the polls on April 8 to select new members to the city council. There are two races to be decided.

Project Graduation trivia night will be held on Saturday

    The Project Graduation Committee will host an ‘80s and ‘90s themed trivia night this Saturday, April 5. Teams will compete for prizes for first and second place and best decorated table, while there will also be a silent auction and a 50/50 raffle. All proceeds will go toward this year’s Graduation event.

Board gets construction update

    Construction at the St. James middle and high schools has picked up over the past month, with warmer weather leading to great gains at both buildings. Lloyd Pooker, of Creative Construction Solutions, updated the St. James Board of Education about where the project stands on March 20.
