Ice Cream Social planned for August 1 in Bourbon

    The United Methodist Women of Bourbon are busy planning and preparing for their Ice Cream Social again this year. It was a tradition for many years, but abandoned for awhile. Then last year they brought back many of the recipes that had been used, treasured, savored, and will be used again. This event has been their main fund raiser to help support various projects and charities throughout the year for not only local, but national and foreign needs.

Woman charged with stealing purse

A Bourbon woman has been charged with stealing without consent, a class C felony, after she allegedly snatched a purse from the McDonald’s restaurant in Cuba on June 27.

Students still seeking veterans’ names

    Steelville Middle School students continue their search for Vietnam War Era veterans of Crawford County. The 7th/8th grade Current Events class is looking for the names and contact information for those men and women who served in the military between February 28, 1961 and May 7, 1975.
