Officials urge public to comment on possible Fort Wood cutbacks

    Fort Leonard Wood is facing possible job cuts that could impact the central Missouri economy. Described in the U.S. Army’s 2014 Supplemental Programmatic Environmental Assessment (SPEA), Army installations are looking to cutting positions at 30 Army installations, including Fort Wood. Residents are encouraged to provide feedback about possible reductions during this public comment period ending on August 25, 2014.

    During the week of August 7, Phelps County Commissioners:
    • Heard from Brady Wilson, of the Rolla Recycling Center, who discussed implementing an increased recycling program at the courthouse.

Commission reviews bridge project on CR 7050

    During the week of July 31, Phelps County commissioners:
    • Heard from Rob Conaway, Archer-Elgin Engineering, who discussed the bridge project on Road 7050. Conaway presented the commission with information from Joe Wilson, Wilson Hydrology, regarding the hydrology of the area if the bridge were moved downstream.
