Hospital bond resolution approved
During the week of February 6, Phelps County commissioners:
• Held a public hearing for the issuance of the 2014 Series Phelps County Regional Medical Center Revenue Bonds in the amount of $24,275,000. The bonds are pledged strictly on the net revenues of the hospital. Money will be used for capital improvements of the Rolla facility and will be disbursed in five installments, resulting in savings on interest. Following the hearing, commissioners approved a resolution regarding the issuance.
During the week of January 30, Phelps County commissioners:
• Held a monthly courthouse meeting.
• Announced they are soliciting bids for asphalt overlay. Bids will be received in the Phelps County Clerk’s office at 200 North Main Street, Suite 102 until 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 11 at which time they will be opened.

Troop I to participate in Route 66 seat belt enforcement
Captain Lee Ann H. Kenley, commanding officer, Troop I announces Troop I officers will again team up with law enforcement agencies in seven other states in the “Get Your ‘Clicks’ On Route 66” seat belt crackdown on Friday, February 7.
Phelps County residents in need will have the opportunity to participate in a food distribution by The Food Bank of Columbia, MO. The Food Bank will be sending two truck loads of fresh fruits, vegetables and other food items to Rolla on Tuesday, February 4. The event will be held from 3-6 p.m.
