Smith tapped by Howald to be assistant PA

    After winning the election just last week, Kent Howald has already named his assistant for when he takes over as Crawford County prosecuting attorney in January. In a press release given to Three Rivers Publishing, Howald announced that David Smith would be his assistant prosecuting attorney.

Burglary suspected caught in Kansas, several others also face charges

    At least five arrests for other crimes were made during the search for Corey Neff, 26, of Leasburg, a man wanted on burglary charges in Crawford County. Sheriff Randy Martin reported on Friday, November 7 that Neff had been apprehended in Kansas and will be extradited to Missouri to face his charges here.

    Crawford County voters retained their associate circuit court judge on Tuesday, but elected a new prosecuting attorney. Those results gave one victory for the Democrats and one to the Republicans.

Two county positions to be determined on Tuesday

    Plan now to cast your ballot in the November 4 General Election next Tuesday. Voters in Crawford County will choose an associate circuit judge and a prosecuting attorney, and will help determine the next state auditor, U.S. representative for the 8th District, and state representative for the 120th District. All other races are uncontested. There are also four constitutional amendments on the ballot.
