Troop I announces special enforcement operations for July

Captain James W. Remillard, commanding officer of Troop I, announces that during the month of July, troopers assigned to Troop I will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint in Crawford County and a DWI saturation in Pulaski County.

    During the week of June 5, Phelps County commissioners:
    • Received notice from the Corporation for National Service that the county’s final responses to the monitoring visit recommendations have been accepted. The program is now fully closed.

Troop I announces special river enforcement

    Captain James W. Remillard, commanding officer of Troop I, has announced that sometime during the month of June Troop I officers will participate in a special enforcement operation on the Gasconade River in Phelps and Pulaski counties. The emphasis of the operation will be the detection of those individuals who are operating either a motor vehicle near the river’s accesses, or water vessel on the river, while intoxicated.

Gov. Nixon announces new resources for Ferguson-area businesses to aid with recovery, growth

• Small Business Relief Program will provide support to impacted businesses in the Ferguson area
ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – Gov. Jay Nixon and State Treasurer Clint Zweifel today joined area business and community leaders to announce the State of Missouri’s commitment of up to $250,000 in small business lending resources from the State Small Business Loan Program to support efforts of the Small Business Relief Program. The Governor has designated Treasurer Zweifel to oversee Missouri’s commitment to the program, which will aid businesses in Ferguson and the surrounding area.

Gov. Nixon names former St. Louis City Police Chief Daniel Isom director of Missouri Department of Public Safety

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Gov. Jay Nixon today announced that Daniel Isom II will become the new director of the Missouri Department of Public Safety, effective Sept.1. Dr. Isom currently serves as the E. Desmond Lee Professor of Policing and the Community for the nationally recognized Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, a position he took after retiring as chief of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department in January 2013. He will replace outgoing Public Safety Director Jerry Lee, who is retiring after almost three years in the position.
