Cuba Arts Council sponsoring events at Cuba Fest

The Cuba Arts Council would like to invite you to join us at the Route 66 Cuba Fest 2014 on October 18 & 19, 2014! Once again, we will be offering our “Wine Sipping Tent,” “The Taste of Cuba,” and “Funky Fashions.” We will be located at the corners of Smith and B Streets.


Cuba School District maintains accredited status

Administrators believe the Cuba School District is performing well and continues to do so. The recent release of Annual Performance Reports scoring school districts across the state only reinforces that notion, with the Crawford County R-2 School District maintaining its accredited status.

The Cuba School Board has endorsed a resolution opposing Amendment 3, which will appear on the November ballot in Missouri, but not without some disagreement among the members of the board.

CHS crowns new royal couple at homecoming - PHOTO GALLERY

Gabrielle Smith and Kenny Highley were crowned Cuba High School’s Homecoming 2014 queen and king during a coronation ceremony at the football field on Friday night. Although it was a cool evening showing first signs of fall, the ceremony managed to go off without any wet weather, as the mist and sprinkles of rain did not begin to fall until after the football game started.

City looking to consolidate communications providers to save cash

Doug Nelson, an account executive with Charter Communications, discussed internet and telephone options at city buildings and their costs for installation at a recent city council meeting. The city is considering making changes to its providers to consolidate both the number of carriers it uses and the price for services.
