DAV pavilion project greenlighted

After going back to the drawing board on a pavilion construction project at Hood Park, the local chapter of Disabled American Veterans thinks it can now move forward with its building plans. Approval from the city council and a cash outlay of nearly $16,000 to cover construction costs will most certainly help.

Flower shop has new owner

    Route 66 Fudge and Flower Shop in Cuba has a new owner and will host a Grand Re-Opening on Friday, April 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Billie McPherson, who also owns Elaine’s Flowers in Steelville, has expanded her business to include the shop located at 705 W. Washington.
