Softball awards given

    The outstanding 2014 season that concluded with a 19-8 record for the St. James Lady Tigers has come to a close with even more impressive news. For the first time in Coach Brad Purvis’ memory, two of the Lady Tigers have been selected to the all-region team.

Tigers fall to Salem, finish 3-7 - PHOTO GALLERY

    St. James quarterback Brett Karnes threw for two touchdowns, ran for another and caught a touchdown pass against Salem last Friday night, but it wasn’t enough for the Tigers to pull out the victory. St. James fell at home to Salem 50-27 and ended the season with a record of 3-7.

    The St. James Middle School girls’ basketball season is quickly winding down. The Lady Tigers are  playing their final games this week.

Tigers soccer seniors honored - PHOTO GALLERY

    The St. James Tigers soccer team dropped its last two games of the regular season to Pacific and Belle last week. Both games gave the defensive players a workout. Although the Tigers lost the games, they played hard and held two more experienced teams from scoring more goals.

Perona, Fane lead FRC

    Two St. James High School cross country runners continued what has been a fine season by finished first and second at last week’s Four-Rivers Conference cross country meet in Owensville. The Tigers will run at their district meet in Linn on Saturday.

Volleyball season ends

    The Lady Tigers volleyball season ended at the district tournament in Union on October 20 as St. James fell to Owensville in three sets. The Lady Tigers ended the year with a mark of 1-22-4.
