Cats chop down Arcadia Valley's big men

Size doesn’t always win out in basketball; there are times when speed can be an equalizing factor. The Arcadia Valley Tigers of Ironton learned that lesson when they visited Mike Voigt Gym on Tuesday, Jan. 28. The varsity Wildcat boys overcame mismatches caused by a much taller team by playing a hard-nosed game and making shots when they needed to, especially at the foul line.

CHS girls nip Steelville in Pink Game

Lady Cats Head Coach Nate Boeh described his team’s performance in the annual Coaches vs. Cancer Pink Game with Steelville as “an all-around gutsy performance.” Of course he was pleased that his varsity girls were able to defeat their conference foes 36-34 in a hard-fought contest, which is what fans have come to expect from any matchup between Cuba and Steelville these days.

Licking stunned the Cuba varsity boys at home last Friday by putting up 82 points and defeating the CHS team by 13.

Cats send Dutchmen to another loss

The Cuba Wildcat boys added to the woes of the Owensville varsity basketball team last week, sending the Dutchmen to yet another sizable loss. Cuba won the game at Mike Voigt Gymnasium by 30 points and never trailed the entire night.
