Boys take first, girls second in GVC tourney

    The Steelville High School boys’ and girls’ basketball teams had a great run through the Gasconade Valley Conference tournament in Cuba last week. The Cardinals took the championship with a win over Bourbon and the Lady Cardinals finished second to Cuba.

SHS teams lost opener

    The Steelville High School varsity boys and girls tipped off the 2014-15 basketball season on November 25 in Dixon. The Bulldogs swept both games from the Cardinals.

SMS boys remain undefeated, 7th graders win tourney - PHOTO GALLERY

    The Steelville Middle School boys’ basketball teams continue to roll through the competition this fall, winning four more games last week. The seventh grade won the championship at the four-team Bourbon tournament Friday night to improve their record to 8-0, while the eighth grade is 12-0.

SMS boys take title at Cuba tournament

    The Steelville Middle School boys captured first place in the round-robin Cuba Eighth Grade Basketball Tournament last week. The three victories left the eighth-grade Cardinals with an unblemished 11-0 record on the season.

SHS boys favored to win GVC this season

    After reaching the district tournament finals last season, the Steelville High School varsity boys’ basketball team has emerged as the favorite to win the Gasconade Valley Conference (GVC) this season. The Cardinals have been seeded first in the GVC tournament, which will get under way December 1 in Cuba.
