Baseball Cards take three in a row

    The Steelville High School baseball team earned wins over Kingston, Bourbon and Crocker last week. The Cardinals also participated in the West County Tournament on Saturday.

Softball team gets third victory

    The Steelville Lady Cardinals softball team earned its third victory of the season last week, defeating Bourbon 14-3. The Lady Cards are now 3-14 as they get ready for the district tournament.

• Middle School boys cruise to easy team victory

    Local runners earned a team victory and an individual win at the Steelville Invitational Cross County Meet, which was held on September 18 at the Community Park. The meet featured 12 area schools.

Volleyball teams earn sweep over Kingston

    The Steelville High School volleyball teams earned a sweep over Kingston in a pair of close matches on September 16. The varsity Lady Cardinals also reached the semifinals of the Cuba tournament on September 13 before falling to the eventual champion.

Softball team loses two

    The Steelville High School softball team dropped a pair of games last week, falling to Cuba 15-2 on September 15 and Salem 7-3 on September 18. The season is quickly winding down and the Lady Cardinals are scheduled to play their final home game on Wednesday, Oct. 1, against St. James.

Baseball Cards get win over Bourbon

    The Cardinals traveled to Bourbon on September 15 and brought home a 4-2 victory over the Warhawks. The Cards scored one run in the first, second, fifth and seventh innings. Bourbon got single runs in the third and fifth innings.
