SFPD hosts donut-eating contest for first responders - PHOTO GALLERY

    Eight brave and hungry souls took the challenge to determine which first responder agency could eat the most donuts at the SFPD Auxiliary’s first annual Donut Responders Donut-Eating Contest. The contest was held on Friday, December 5 as a fundraiser for the auxiliary’s community outreach programs, and contestants raised over $2,000.

City gets grant to help with lodge project

    Grant funding was recently awarded to the city of Steelville from the Delta Regional Authority (DRA) to assist in the development of property near the industrial park. The DRA grant is $130,300 towards the total project cost of $161,120 and will help fund the installation of the sewer and the roadway to the area.

First and third graders present Christmas programs - PHOTO GALLERY

Steelville first graders presented a winter-themed Christmas program to family and friends at the Meramec Music Theatre on Thursday, December 4. The group sang selections from the movie “Frozen,” along with other winter songs, and each class recited a winter poem.
