Authorities seeking information on missing woman

    The Crawford County Sheriff’s Department is seeking any information that may assist in finding a missing St. James woman.
    Amanda Caudill, 27, of St. James, has been missing since Monday, December 15. Family members discovered a note left in her home and last made contact with her by telephone at 1 p.m. on Monday. Caudill left her wallet and vehicle at the residence.
    Officials do not have a clothing description of what she was wearing, but she is 5’8”, 145 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes.
    A Facebook community page “Please help locate Amanda Caudill” was formed shortly after she went missing and is also requesting any information that could help locate her. Information on the page tells that her phone was last “pinged” in the St. Clair/Pacific area before being turned off.
    If anyone has information regarding Caudill’s whereabouts, contact the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department at (573) 775-2125 or the Missouri State Highway Patrol Missing Persons Clearinghouse at (573) 526-6178.

Bernstein still winner after recount

    Associate Circuit Court Judge Scott Bernstein remained the victor in the November election after the recount conducted at the Crawford County Courthouse on Thursday.

Work completed in Collector's and Assessor's offices

ACCESSIBILITY IMPROVED - Recent upgrades to the customer service area in the Crawford County Collector’s and Assessor’s offices have made the area more accessible to those who have limited mobility. In front of the Collector’s office, a new countertop has been installed to allow for a lower space to complete paperwork. A matching counter was put on the window to the Assessor’s office, while two workspaces were installed inside the Assessor’s reception area to allow for an accessible space to complete paperwork there.

New sidewalk for Health Department

SIDEWALK REPLACED - Workers poured a new sidewalk in front of the Crawford County Health Department in Steelville on December 9. The old sidewalk had been deteriorating to the point that it was not safe, especially for those with mobility concerns.

Crawford County nets more than $1million in sales tax for 2014

    Crawford County brought in over $1 million in sales tax for the general revenue fund for 2014, a feat that’s only happened once before in the past seven years in 2012. The total general revenue sales tax reported for 2014 at the December 9 county commission meeting was $1,071,939.
