    • Assessor Kerry Summers updated the commission on state funding connected to assessment. He reported Crawford County’s fund is healthy and should be safe for some time. He also noted that new construction starts had increased slightly in 2014, but there is a need for the development of commercial buildings. He mentioned that the new Mercy Medical Office near Sullivan, while tax-exempt, would ideally pull in new business development in that portion of the county.

Road complaint creates heated discussion

    Residents of Seven Cedars Road confronted the Crawford County Commission on Tuesday, July 29, to complain about the condition of their roadway. The group agreed the road is in the worst condition they’ve ever seen and wanted to see something done to take care of the problems.

Beware of Publishers Clearing House scam

Crawford County residents should be aware of a scam that is taking place around the area. Reports are coming in from the Crawford County Sheriff's Department that individuals are calling claiming to be Publishers Clearing House and asking for money.


Three Republicans seeking nomination for Associate Circuit Judge

    Three Republican candidates for Associate Circuit Judge will face off in the August primary. Kristopher Crews, David Smith, and Susan Bell are vying for the opportunity to challenge incumbent Democrat Scott Bernstein (who is unopposed in the primary) for that seat in November.

Constitutional Amendment 7 could bring $2.65 million for Crawford County over 10 years

    In addition to many Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) projects in the Meramec Region, including five in Crawford County, Constitutional Amendment 7 would also provide an estimated $27 million distributed to cities and $27 million distributed to counties throughout the state over a 10-yeartime period to assist with transportation funding at the local level, if the measure passes by Missouri voters.
