Class of 2019 Scholarships total almost $130k

Steelville High School graduates of the Class of 2019 have been awarded a grand total of $129,640 in scholarships to be utilized to further their educations.
Scholarship recipients and their awards as known at the time of printing for the graduation programs are as follows:

Local resort celebrates 40 years on the Huzzah

    Huzzah Valley Resort is celebrating 40 years in business in 2019. Starting out with just a handful of canoes and a few campsites, the Cottrell family has grown the resort by enormous proportions, and provided not only a destination for visitors to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors in this area, but also a place for many local people to work during the tourist season, and an economic support to a number of local businesses.

Steelville woman faces assault charges

A Steelville woman faces assault charges after reportedly attacking another woman in April. A child was also injured during the altercation. As a result, Brandy Peanick, 37, faces charges for class D felony third-degree assault (special victim) and class E felony third degree assault.
