Betty S. Shockley was born December 8, 1943 in Washington, Missouri to Joseph and Mildred (Cahill) Haines and passed away on Friday, March 22, 2019 at the age of 75 years.
Betty was a lifelong area resident and attended the Bland school system.
In January of 1959 she married Edward Shockley in Vichy, Missouri.
Betty loved to clean and worked as a caretaker in the area helping those in need. She loved to shop at local stores where they knew her by name. Betty liked growing flowers, reading books and newspapers and listening to older country music.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mildred Haines; husband, Edward on October 25, 1994; two daughters, Tonia Spurgeon and Tina Shockley; two sisters, Cindy Price and JoAnn Vandegriffe; grandson, Robbie Marquart; and sister-in-law, Robin Haines.
She is survived by three sons, Eddie Shockley and wife Darla of St. James, Missouri, Matt Shockley and wife Amy of St. James, Missouri and Josh Thornhill and wife Crystal of St. James, Missouri; four daughters, Kim Workman and husband Raymond of Vichy, Missouri, Pam Mitchell of Jefferson City, Missouri, Lisa Shockley of Belle, Missouri and Misty Bland and husband Rex of Freeburg, Missouri; 21 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; three brothers, Jim Haines of Owensville, Missouri, Billy Haines and wife Marilynn of Vichy, Missouri and Kenny Haines of Owensville, Missouri; three sisters, Carolyn Francis and husband Mike of Texas, Linda Morelock and husband Larry of Alabama and Rita Potts and husband Sammy of Vichy, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from noon to 3 p.m. on Monday, March 25, 2019 at the Sassmann’s Chapel in Belle, Missouri.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. at the Sassmann’s Chapel in Belle, Missouri with Jack Vincent officiating.
Interment was in the Campbell Cemetery.
