Anna Lorene Farrar of Steelville, Missouri was born on Saturday, September 24, 1938 in Keysville, Missouri to William Clark and Emily “Lola” Esther (Oxendine) Farrar and passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at the age of 80 years, 6 months and 2 days.
Anna was a lifelong Steelville, Missouri resident and had attended the United Baptist Church of Steelville. She worked at Brown Shoe for over 30 years. Anna loved bowling with her sister Elsie and they played on several leagues. She was a great cook and enjoyed making tomato preserves and stews. She enjoyed doing word searches and crossword puzzles; playing games of all kinds and watching the Game Show Network.
Anna was a Cardinal baseball fan and liked working with her flowers. She was a natural caregiver and enjoyed babysitting her nieces, nephews, and greats who she loved all as her own and they thought of her as a second mom.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lola Farrar; one brother, Jim Farrar; two sisters, Rosie Mable Farrar and Mildred (Delmar) Parrett; brothers-in-law, Earl Halbert, Charlie Weaver and Rev. Jerry Walls; nephews, DeWayne Weaver, Tim Weaver and Ned Dorf; and great nephew, Josh Staples.
She is survived by her sisters, Edna Halbert of St. Louis, Missouri, Elsie Weaver of Steelville, Missouri and Arnetta Walls of California, Missouri; special nephew that was like a brother, Joe Halbert of Springfield, Missouri; honorary adopted children; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2019 at the Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at the Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri with Pastor Tracy White officiating.
Burial was at the Martin-Trask Cemetery in Cherryville, Missouri.
Pallbearers were Bobby Becker, Bart Staples, Jimmy Weaver, Luke Marz, Colby Dorf and Ryan Weaver. Honorary pallbearers were Shane Staples, Chad Marz and Danny Becker.
