CASA looking for volunteers

Do you have a few hours a month that could be used to benefit a child in foster care?  Mid-Ozark CASA is looking for a few good volunteers willing to spend time with Crawford County’s children in need.  Janet Jones, CASA’s volunteer coordinator for Crawford County, is ready to begin a new training class and is eager to expand her corps of volunteers.

CASA/GAL volunteers are appointed by judges to watch over and advocate for abused and neglected children to make sure they don’t get lost in the overburdened legal and social service system or languish in inappropriate group or foster homes.  Volunteers stay with each case until it is closed and the child is placed in a safe, permanent home.  For many abused children, their CASA/GAL volunteer will be the one constant adult presence in their lives.
There are many different ways to be involved with Mid-Ozark CASA.  Whether by becoming an advocate for children as a volunteer, serving on the board, or as a “Friend of CASA”, all efforts are worthy and so appreciated and needed.  There is currently a long list of children waiting for CASA volunteers.  If you or someone you know would like to learn more about the different volunteer opportunities, please contact Janet at This email address is being protected from spambots.
