Big changes are underway at the Cuba Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry. After a lengthy search for a relocation site, the food pantry is moving from its current location on North Franklin Street to a new one on West Spencer Street that was formerly being used by Car/X Auto Sales as a used car lot.
A special dedication program for the Cuba aviation display will take place at the Cuba Municipal Airport on August 24, and the public is invited to attend the event to commemorate the addition of a C-12 Huron aircraft and to recognize those who participated in making it a reality.
The Cuba Police Department held its annual Youth Camp August 7-9 at Meramec Adventure Learning Ranch near Steelville. The free camp was open to children ages 6-14 and included a wide range of activities, including water sports, a high-ropes course, and a mud obstacle course. See page 1B for more photos.
Members of the Cuba Area Chamber of Commerce took a short trip out of town on Friday, Aug. 9, to welcome a new member, Brush Creek Valley Farms, with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony. The Stubblefield family, which owns the business, provided lunch and offered a tour of their operation.
When Cuba students return to class on Thursday, they’ll be coming back to lots of improved facilities. Much of the work completed over the summer will be easily seen, but the biggest project will be out of sight.
